Pushing Through

Can you just imagine that feeling of achievement? Can you imagine that in 2018, you reach every goal you set? Can you picture the day someone on a stage announcing that you have won some prestige award?
I know you can. You’ve been working for it all your life. You see your parents struggle in life and you just want to make everything right – or you see your mum work more than one job to pay the bills and you say to yourself “what can I do to change all of this?” I know you’re grinding, hustling to make it. I know that you’re putting in blood, sweat and tears for what you want to get. Every morning you wake up an hour earlier to get into that zone, you work 9-12 hours more to get that big break.
Sometimes in life you have to work on your own- why, you ask? Well because no one is on your side. The people you thought that would be cheering for you are silent, they don’t openly support so you feel like you’ve been left to rot on your own. You see your peers flourishing and you wonder why that hasn’t happened yet for you  Your age mates, like your mum would say, are making money, making moves and looking happy in all aspects of their lives. But is that honestly the case? Everyone is a human like you and me. We all have our issues in life that no one knows about so please don’t compare yourself to anyone.
Just be you.
Real diamonds are made during the purification process, did you know that? No one gets to where they want to be in life by being inactive. You have to put in that work, as cliché as it sounds but it is honestly the truth. Michael Jordan once said that “I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot, and missed. I failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” Even MJ himself went through pain, disappointment and hurt. He used his pain as motivation and never looked back.

The desire to succeed alone will not be enough; you’re going to have to work to succeed. There will be days this year where you’ll want to cry or shut yourself away from the world in disappointment but stay on course. Let the ship sail through the storm – you will get to the shore.
You will be the winner this year
